Offshore wind power: growth continues
As the latest statistics show, the first round of projects worth some three gigawatts by the end of 2015 is well underway. Germany’s new Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) provides planning security for the second stage as well to provide up to some 6.5 gigawatts by 2020. But the associations are nonetheless keeping close watch of Berlin. Construction of turbines must go hand-in-hand with offshore grid connections from now on.
